Zoo Lights

We went to see the zoo lights tonight. They were so beautiful this year and we had perfect weather. They had zoo animal people out this year. Any person in a fuzzy costume is case for celebration and a photo in Anna's book.

She was so excited about the elephant, that Anna ran screaming across half of the zoo to give him a hug and take a photo.

Zoe took very good care of Sam tonight, making sure he kept his hat on and pushing him around in his stroller. This is extra nice of Zoe and Gabby to share ... since Sam is technically Gabby's baby (and Zoe has Anna).

Gingerbread House

Gabby and Zoe are at Nana and Pop Pop's house for a few days and that only means one thing for Anna ... extra fun and love. She loves those girls like no other. Today we went over to Nana's house to build a gingerbread house.

This was the first time she had ever made one and I think she ate way more candy then frosted to the house. Anna mainly worked on the yard and snow areas of the house.

Polar Express

We rode with some friends (hi guys!) on the Polar Express on Tuesday. The kids rode in their pj's for a night time train ride to the North Pole. Anna and Sam loved it, they played music from the movie, had hot coco, and got to meet Santa.

A Few Weekend Updates

So we had a busy weekend, very very busy ...

listening to Christmas music,

making scary faces while dressed like a cheetah cat,

taking photos,

dressing up to go to the Nutcracker,

waiting for people to notice and admire our high heel shiny shoes,

finding extra space for some napping animals,

thinking that maybe they would like bunk beds,

dressing extra warm (and extra plaid) for the cold weather,

looking for food,

and thank goodness finding some.

Haircut Play Date

Today we went over to Anna's friend Cece's house for haircuts. Her Aunt is a hairdresser and we were all able to get beautiful, have a play date, and pizza. Mr. Sam even got a little trim up of his mullet. I wasn't able to get a photo of him since I held him for the trim.

Tonight's advent book was Olive The Other Reindeer by Vivian Walsh. If you were at all concerned about the state of my carbon footprint in regards to Christmas wrapping paper this year, rest assured that we now have a advent red book bag! Thanks Kathleen ... it worked great.

Out Sick

The whole family had a bad the flu over the weekend. The positives were we got to eat a lot of pop cycles, test out a few different types carpet cleaners, and we are all now on the mend.

Tonight advent book was Toot & Puddle: Let It Snow by Holly Hobbie and last night's book was Bear Stays Up For Christmas by Karma Wilson. So far, Anna and Sam have both liked Bear Stays Up For Christmas and Stick Man. Toot & Puddle has been the least favorite so far ... this has been a fun project to do each night for everyone.

New Hats And Hot Coco

Pop Pop's brought some new winter gear for both Anna and Sam today. They put on their new fleece lined pants, mittens, and hats and went on a walk to get some hot chocolate.

Anna has been really into reading and watching the Polar Express these past few weeks. She is so cute, spread out on the couch ....

Then up to dance at any musical number they show.

Tonight's advent book is The Snow Globe Family by Jane O'Connor. I am not sure how Anna likes this book since Charles is currently reading her the story.
