Christmas Dogs

Nana and Pop Pops are gone a few few days and Anna is taking care of Maggie and Millie for them while they are away. Today, her version of taking care of them was to dress them up for Christmas.

An update on our advent calender, last night we read My Penguin Osbert by Elizabeth Cody and tonight's book was Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. I think Stick Man was a big hit. I ended up reading it twice and Anna took it to bed with her to look at before she goes to sleep.

The "Under Nomanats"

Anna helped us decorate the tree on Sunday and she was a little disappointed in our ornament selection. We went to the store this afternoon to pick out a few more "nomanats" for the "underside" (bottom half) of the tree. She was excited once she found the Pooh Bear and Lumpy ornament.

Sam was really happy with the original glass balls, as he is a master glass ball smasher.

Anna rearranged the entire lower half of the tree herself.

Since today was the 1st of December, they got to open an advent gift. This year I am going to do 24 Christmas books instead of little gifts. The book for tonight was Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree by Robert Barry.

The Newspaper

Nana called us this morning to say that Anna's photo was in the newspaper today (http://www.oregonlive.com/books/index.ssf/2009/12/a_childrens_place_bookstore_wh.html) She goes to story time at the local children's book store on Thursday's and a few weeks ago a photographer was taking photo for a story on the anniversary of the bookstore. Lots of friends called to say they saw Anna's photo this morning ... and to ask why she is the only child not sitting with her parent. I have to keep Sam moving during story time and if you read the story, he is referred to as the 18 month old who farted.

The Bee Feeds The Dog ... OK

The Bee also likes to wear a bee matching hat.

In Seach Of Pie

Sam has a new habit of walking around with a spoon in his hand. He is hoping that someone, some where, will give me more pie.

Always Thankful For Pie

Nana made the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner today and the best part of the meal was the individual pie's for Anna and Sam. This year Anna helped Nana out by rolling the dough and pinching the edges.

We also watched the dog show. Anna told to watch once Maggie the "chandler" was on the tv.

November Zoo

Since it was not raining today, and may possibly be the last rain free day until February, Anna and Sam went up to the zoo for a quick visit. It was clear, beautiful, and really, really cold up there. We met up with some friends and did a quick tour of the elephants and the lions before heading home for hot coco.
