Truck Town

The library hosted a special event called "Truck Town" today. A great time for the kids and hard work for me. They both run towards the trucks and had no interst in photo's.

$0.31 Ice Cream

On they way to get ice cream last night .. singing songs and talking about what flavors they wanted ... Anna wanted "popper Mint" and Sam wanted "cream, me, cream."

Anna's friend brought some cocooned caterpillars to our house so we could watch them hatch out. It was amazing to watch; however, it took a long time from start to finish ... so while they waited they played.

The girls discussed tiny animals families and made up stories about what the families like to do.

And bounced to exhaustion in the ball pit.

Stella was given a beauty treatment bath as well. I felt a little sorry for her, so not photo's.

Yep ...

Sam has ideas. He has to wear his shoes with the little trucks on them all the time. Today he decided that he just HAD to wear sunglasses ... both accessories just had to be worn to bed.

And when I think about the fact that he has his Cars underwear over his diaper (but under the pj's), I worry about what he will want to accessory he will want to add next.

Ride Like The Wind .. Wonderhorse!

Random Photo Updates and Dinner

I used the rice cooker tonight for the first time. I made "Rainbow Rice" from the Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook (Martin Yan's recipe). Very easy and good.

Sam

Tonight Sam found Anna's Buzz Lightyear "panties" and decided that he just had to wear them. He did not want anything else to interfere with his enjoyment of the underwear ... no shirt, pants, socks, ect. For some reason the wings Anna suggested were seen as acceptable. Currently, the "panties" are over his diaper, but under his Buzz Lightyear pj's while he is sleeping in bed.

Little Yellow House

Anna is helping us to decided what color our house should be painted. It may look really cute as a little yellow house.

Before He Fell

Nana watched Anna and Sam for me this morning (feel better Marsha!) while I was at work. She took several photo's and this one she described as .. "look how cute Sam was before the fall." Sam is so cute in his cowboy hat and man does he love to ride the wonder horse. I am not sure how Nana got Anna to share the horse today.

Judging from the photo roll, I think this is Nana's sweater trying to catch Sam and drop the camera at the same time. Poor Nana.

Animal Party

Anna's friend had a petting zoo birthday party on Sunday with chickens, a bunny, and a tiny baby goat. She had a ball ... I am not sure the baby goat will ever be the same again.

The Alice Dress

Henry's mother gave Anna this beautiful dress last week. Anna loves it and calls it her "Alice dress" (like Alice in Wonderland).

She has been asking to wear her hair like Alice for a couple of weeks on and off (I use headbands). I think the dress adds another layer to her wonderland world. * *Sorry Nana, Anna is still asking when your dress is going to be here ... I don't think you got off the hook quite yet on making one.

Pee-rty

This sweet sticky faced little boy loves trucks, books, cars, balloons, and his mommy. Lucky for him, there are lots of books about trucks.

He has really liked going outdoor lately. If he is given have a chance he rips off the top of one of our tulips and had it to me .. "pee-rty momma."

Race Fans

Sam, Anna, and got to to watch a very exciting race this afternoon. The cars were so fast and close together ... I think they may have been bump drafting.

The excitement is too much for Anna, she has to hide.

The excitement get to Guido ...

And then poor Luigi goes down.

Eventually Sam decides that he wants a photo taken of him.

Anna grew tired of all the racing and decided to re-decorate the bathroom.

Caught Naughty

Anna was so excited to point out to me tonight that she "caught naughty Sam ... in the act." Sam was climbing up the couch, turning around on the chest, and then sliding like a penguin to the ground. I think Anna is just happy that someone else is naughty for a change.

She was also happy that she is a tidy eater and not a "messy Sammy."

Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long

What a fun way to watch a movie with kids. We had so much fun getting ready for the sing-a-long today. Mary Poppins herself explained the rule of of movie before hand and how to use the goody bags she gave to us. We had fans to blow all the other Nannies away, kazoos to blow for the penguins, small umbrella to wave, candy tuppence to gobble up before the banker would snatch it, firecrackers to pop with Admiral Boom, and a bunch of others that I can not remember.

After a week of worrying the kids costumes arrived and were all updated in time. Nana went as Mary Poppins. Her friend John lent her a fantastic vintage umbrella and handbag to correspond with the Mary hat she made. Pop Pop's went as Bert with a top hart and scarf. Anna and Sam went as the penguin waiters. Charles was Mr. Banks, compete with bower hat, mustache, and fixed kite ... since Charles loves Halloween I knew he would go all out in his costume. We won a DVD copy of the movie and two chocolate bars during the costume contest.

Nana's Birthday

This year Nana's birthday landed on Easter. We went to brunch at Papa Hyden's, the Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long (see other post), and back home for cake. Anna has been so excited about Nana's party day all week. I think to was more exciting and meaningful to her then all the Easter celebrations. Sam even started to call her "Nana!!" today as well ... I think it was a great birthday party and I think she really liked it as well.

Happy Birthday to you Nana. We love you.

Easter

Anna woke up early this morning yelling "I ate chocolate in the dark!!" She found the eggs the bunny left last night and ate almost all of the candy before we knew she was awake. Both kids were very excited about finding the rest of the eggs and the baskets.

The Easter bunny also visited Nana's house. The Vancouver bunny must be a large variety of rabbit.
