Girl Day

On Sunday, Anna and I met Nana for some sandal shopping and lunch out. Anna picked the exact same sandal she wore last summer, found a great sun hat, and a few things to take with us when we all go to the beach next month. It was really nice to have a girl day out.

Dozer Day's

Pop pop's treated us to a fantastic day on Saturday called "Dozer Day's." It is an annual event where kids get to ride in, operate, dig around, and run with big construction rigs in a big gravel pit. It was such a fun, fun day and Anna and Sam had a blast.

Pop pop's, Anna, and Sam on a very big, loud machine. It is hard to tell from the photo that they are really high up off the ground.

Anna operated two different types of vehicles. I don't know the names of the machines .. The first one was a sort of larger Bobcat that was for digging and could spin around. The second one had a larger scraper on the front of it.

Sam was really excited about the trucks. He liked the sand pits, holding Nana's hand while walking around, and being with his Pop pop's. He did not; however, want to sit with a stranger in order to operate the rigs.

Even the food seemed better out there in the gravel pit. For the first time Anna and Sam each tried, and ate, an entire hamburger.

May 4th .... Be With You!

In honor of Star Wars fans everywhere, Sam wore his Darth Vader shirt today for the last time. The shirt is a little to tight around the belly and a lot to short in the body. He wore the Dark Force well and I am a little sad to pass it along to some other fan.

Flubber!

Who knew glue, borax, food dye, and some water could create so much fun (and mess ... not a good craft for carpet)?

Eugene Marathon

While Anna and Sam spent a ice cream, ballet, hug filled weekend with Nana and Pop Pop's, Charles and I were in Eugene for the marathon. So exciting to see Hayward Field and eat at Track Town Pizza. Charles had been waiting years to see "Bowerman's Track."
