Sleeping Sammy

Since Sam has recently decided that he will sleep for a few hours at a time I thought I would share two sleep photo's. He has become very sweet to put down now. He currently spends more (of the awake) time playing and looking around and less time yelling and crying when you put him down to sleep.

The first photo, taken last night, is of "Houdini Sam" who managed to wriggle out of his swaddler and kick it to the end of his crib.

This photo was taken tonight. Sam is sleeping near his new favorite toy Giraffe (Thanks Laura Lee). He spent an hour squealing like a three year old girl, playing with it in his crib before falling asleep.

Nana made the beautiful blanket that Sam is sleeping on top of. I forget what the pattern is called .. I think very difficult :) The colorful quilt that is hanging on the side of the crib was made for Sam by Mrs. Ellie. She is a wonderful friend to my mother and our family, we are lucky to have her in our lives. She also made Anna her pink heart quilt that we use everyday.

Ready Set Race Me Please

... or I just want to have a rest

... or maybe I just want to walk the dog and the "quirrl"

... nope I just want to kiss Sam.

Happy Nine Months Sam!

Mr. Sam had a great check up today. His weight is 21.1 lbs (60%), height is 29.5" (80%), and head circumference is 44.5 cm (30%). Since he looks a lot bigger in girth than he actually is the doctor had the nurse weigh him twice.

Anna wanted to be in the (to be honest all, of them) photo tonight.

This is Anna at nine months (August 6, 2009). At nine months her weight was 17.2 lbs, height was 28", and head circumference was 44.2 cm.

This is our old playgroup from August 2006, we still see some of the kids a few times a year. And, of course and luckily, we see Miss. Katie several times a week. Katie is the girl sitting next to Anna (green binky) in the pink. It is amazing to think that they are three year old preschoolers now.

The Ballerina Is Back

After a several week absence the ballet classes has resumed again. Anna was so excited to go. When she met her new teacher she told her "My name is Anna. Ducks lay eggs. I am wearing a new tutu. I like to dance like Swan Lake .. but not the black one."

This is my final cake for the level one decorating class I finished tonight.

Baseball

We went see to the Portland Beaver's this afternoon with nana and Pop pop's. Anna loved the game ... Nana, music, ice cream, cracker jacks, and lots of yelling it was all favorite stuff!

But the best part of all was Lucky Beaver!

Who doesn't love Mr. Lucky! (or Mr. Boomer, and Mr. Bucky or what ever he changes his name to each season)

This is Sam and I before the game started. He was OK with the game and even managed to take a very short nap during the seventh inning stretch.

Fountains, Shade, and Lawn Care

Today was a busy Sunday for us. We all got up early and went for a run (or stroller push) down at the waterfront park. Anna and I went to the fountain to play with Katie and Max in the early afternoon.

We sat in the shade and blew bubbles with Nana after lunch.

Sam tried to eat the grass ... be really was disappointed that it was not food.

Charles and Anna finished off the day by hoeing bare spot in the front yard "just like Rabbit does in his garden."

The Loving Lawn Care

We specialize in blowing bubbles, pointing out dog poop, gently holding lady bugs, and waving hello to people who walk by.

Sammy Salamander

If Sam had a super power, it would be the ability to wiggly backwards really far.

Zoo Morning

Safari Sammy waiting to be pulled in the red wagon. He likes to ride in the wagon a lot, he rocks back and forth, and pats the sides and bottom of the wagon when he thinks I am not going enough. I used the umbrella to shade him since Sam did not want to wear his hat.

Anna is saying "cheese and crackers" to me.

This is the only photo I was able to take of Mr. Jack since he likes to move. Jack wore his safari hat for most of the morning.

Anna is showing the real zebra her plastic zebra. She was very sweet this morning and spent time thinking about what animals she wanted to see at the zoo and what toys the animals would want to see. She ended up taking a zebra and Penelope Pea Pod (a small baby doll) with her to the zoo. She carried both toys in her hands the entire time.

Cece brushing the goats.

Anna with the goats.

Sam's little way of reminding us that it was time to go home.

Story Time Photo

Katie's mom Stephanie takes really beautiful photo's. This is one she posted on her blog tonight. It is of Katie, Anna, and Sam listing to story time this morning at the book store.

Since Stephanie has a invitation to view blog and I can not link her page, I "borrowed" the photo. I hope you don't mind Steph, it is just too cute not to share.

Little Red Ridding Hood

We have been reading a none scarring version of Little Red Ridding Hood to Anna and for the past few nights we have to say "goodnight Little Red Ridding Hood, Anna." This is the funniest phrase you can say to a person ... very funny in the three year old world and it just might be the number one punch line ever.

A Sunny Day For The Double Stroller

Sometime it is just more fun to be in charge and be "the driver."

Tinkerbell Presents

Tinkerbell (thank you Stephanie!) gave Anna a present and a note telling her that she was excited to see her in Disneyland soon. Anna has been super excited about this ... "How does Tinkerbell know I'm a coming to see her, Tinkerbell only likes green purses, Tinkerbell likes to eat candy with gloves" .. and my favorite "Tinkerbell hit Sammy on the head to see if he can cry."

Current contents of her purse are: small plastic Tinkerbell doll, the note from Tinkerbell to Anna, small plastic panda bear, pink princess shaped kids tooth flosser, lion soap, and the plastic bag that the Finding Nemo shaped gummies came in.

Sunny Sunday

We had a great day today ... Anna got a pill bug to crawl on her hand.

Sammy had his sister to give him a wagon ride around the back yard,

he had a little time for his favorite new game "Bang the Rings Together Hard,"

and then Sammy got one more ride in the wagon.

New Suit

Swim class is always more fun when you get to try out a new cute swim suit.

Dinner Club

Anna had her friends CeCe and Jack over for dinner on Thursday night (a babysitting swap). They had cake for dessert and decided to sing "Happy Birthday to Henrietta The Donkey" .. you can't see her in the photo's? Henrietta is sitting to CeCe's left in the pink hat with the fan.

Happy Birthday Max

In honor of Max's birthday

and maybe because he missed out on the cupcakes which he really wanted ... Sam decided to streach really big and then sit up.

It must be the 10,000 stomach crunches that he has been doing since birth.

(or Nana) .. we love you!
