Anna has a new old friend.



The new bedding for Anna's room turned out wonderful. She is so happy with it all ... thanks Nana.

R.I.P Timothy Mouse

Poor Mr. Timothy Mouse was tossed out of the stroller today and hit by a car. He lived a long life for a plush toy. Nana won him at the carnival games in California Adventure last September. I think eleven months is a good run for a little mouse. Anna is very sad that "Timothy Mouse is now in heaven with great grandma."

The Pink Room

Anna and Sam spent the weekend at Nana and Pop pop's house this weekend. Anna was really very happy and surprised to come home to a new pink bedroom (and windows). She spent some time this afternoon testing out what it was going to feel like to sleep in the room.

Pixar Movie Mixup

Sam really loves to wear Pixar stuff ... he is a mixed movie type of guy. Between the Toy Story pj's, Wall E "panties", and Car's toy .. it is hard to image that he went to be wearing his Monster's Inc socks. I need to find him a pair of Bug's Life sunglasses and he would be all set.

A Raccoon, A Lumberjack, And An Airplane Walk Into A Bedroom

My new favorite way to spent a Sunday afternoon: pj's, bathrobes, funny hats, and two kids nicely playing together.

Toy Story 3

After Charles pre-bought the tickets for the movie on Saturday, he and Anna ate the official licenced cereal to get even more excited about .. TOY STORY 3.



They also spent some time practicing what the 3D glasses would feel like when being worn ... "too big and floppy" was reason for not wearing them during the movie.

Talking School Graduate

or I could also call this Anna has mastered the "L" sounds to an age appropriate level! All that "la la la ing" around here and a fantastic teacher Patty has earned Anna a summer off from speech therapy, a party with her teacher Patty, and lots and lots of attention today.



Patty gave her several "L" sound presents and her favorite was the marshmaLLow heLLo kitty LoLLy pop.



Thank you Teacher Patty. We will miss you until our review in August.

Beach Trip

Nana and Pop pop's rented a house last week at the beach. We were busy doing beach type activities ...



We visited the aquarium in Newport.







Sam and Anna got to eat breakfast while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (since we do not have cable ... a big treat).



We worked on puzzles.



We went to the lighthouse. The lighthouse was really fun for Anna. She had just watched a Clifford show where Clifford (the big red dog) visits a lighthouse a few days beforehand. She was all about asking questions are looking for the three legged dog names Casey.



Anna climbed all 110 steps on her own to get to the top and meet the keeper.





We looked to treasures at low tide. Anna was excited to find crab claws (smelled gross) and barnacles (they smelled even worse).



And we went back to the aquarium. The second time we were able to spend more time with the touch pools.





Thank you Nana and Pop pop's we had a great time!!

Bugs, Bikes, and Cream

Anna found a caterpillar this afternoon. She told me that when it grew up it was going to be something different and when she grew up she would still be a people.



Pop pop's and Nana came over to deliver some great new sun hats and go for a trike ride for "cream."



Anna really liked her "trombone on a cone."



A few photo's of the siding removal project. The green is the aluminum siding that is being removed after 30 plus years on the house and the yellow shingles are sadly going to be removed soon as well after being on the house 90 plus years. We had hoped to save and restore them; however, they are in such rough shape it was to expensive to keep them on.

Long Overdue Update

Shortly after my last post a few weeks ago, I fell down our basement stairs and broke my tailbone. The desire to update the blog was gone and the weather has been really terrible ... and anyway this is what we have been up to for the past few weeks.
